Premier League records 36 positive Covid cases in most recent testing


Premier League had a season-high 40 positive cases in earlier seven day stretch of testing; five matches have been canceled in view of Covid cases this season; Premier League has not examined the chance of a circuit break in spite of developing number of positive cases.




The Premier League has confirmed 36 positive coronavirus cases were recorded in the latest week of testing.


It denotes a slight drop from the season-high of 40 positive cases which were uncovered in a week ago’s outcomes – the first wherein players and staff at all 20 clubs were being tried double seven days. 

“The Premier League can today [January 11] affirm that between Monday 4 January and Sunday 10 January, across two rounds of testing, 2,593 players and club staff were tried for COVID-19. Of these, there were 36 new certain tests,” read a Premier League explanation. 

“Players or club staff who have tried positive will self-segregate for a time of 10 days.

Five matches have been canceled in view of Covid cases this season after Tottenham’s planned excursion to confront Aston Villa was delayed on Monday after a flare-up in the Villa crew.
