Real Madrid transfer is “practically done” for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies

According to a report from Spanish outlet Relevo, the potential move to Real Madrid from Bayern Munich for left-back Alphonso Davies is “practically” done.

Huh?

While the transfer has been widely expected to be consummated next summer, things have been relatively silent of late. In fact, both FC Barcelona and Manchester United have been rumored to be sneaking into the mix for Davies. Those rumors might not be on-point, though, as Relevo says Real Madrid and Davies are in agreement:

The left-back position is not being sought because it is practically already done. Real Madrid are also planning the upcoming campaign with Alphonso Davies in the squad. The Canadian from Bayern is out of contract in seven months, and he is clear about his desire to sign for the Merengue club. His signing was expected last summer but the demands of the German team were frustrating, will be resolved at the beginning of 2025, when he is free to negotiate.

It is hard to take any report coming out of Spain fully serious just yet, but it would not be wholly shocking if Davies has already made up his mind given how long stories have been out linking the Canadian to Real Madrid.
