Cristiano Ronaldo's press conference lasted just 2 minutes and 12 seconds after Portugal win

Cristiano Ronaldo held an unbelievably short press conference after Portugal’s 3-2 win over Ghana on Thursday.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made history in becoming the first men’s player to score in five different World Cups after opening the scoring with an emphatic penalty in the second half.

Andre Ayew levelled matters for Ghana before Joao Felix and Rafael Leao supplied lovely finishes from deft passes supplied by Bruno Fernandes.

Osman Bukari pulled one back late on for Ghana and angered Ronaldo by performing the ‘SIUU’ celebration that the former Real Madrid superstar reverted back to when he hit his eighth World Cup goal.

Ronaldo was named Man of the Match by FIFA and so he was whisked in for media duties afterwards.

However, the 37-year-old, now without a club following his Manchester United termination, was there for just 2 minutes and 12 seconds.

Ronaldo only took two questions and then promptly excited. His only notable line was, “This is a moment that makes me very proud. That chapter (United) is closed. I’m here to win. The rest does not matter.”

In recent press conferences, Portugal players had grown tired of being asked about Ronaldo and his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

It led to the captain and record goalscorer staging a surprise presser where he told journalists to stop asking the same questions to his colleagues.

After leading out his team onto the pitch for the Group H clash at Stadium 974, the 37-year-old was visibly emotional as he belted out the national anthem.

Ronaldo has hit eight World Cup goals across five tournaments, his first coming from the spot against Iran back at the 2006 showpiece in Germany.

He is still yet to score in a knockout stage fixture, with all of his strikes coming in the group stage.

No a free agent, Ronaldo has been linked with a slew of clubs, though David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami are the latest outfit to cool their interest – after Chelsea and Newcastle distanced themselves.

However, Marca, say the Portugal skipper could be set for a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr ready to offer an insane £210 million package over two seasons.
